Lahbab Red Dunes
Deep red iron-oxide sand • Long dune faces
Lahbab is the larger and more forgiving of the two fields, and the one we usually recommend for a first desert drive. The colour comes from iron oxide in the sand, which is what produces the deep red-orange hue the region is famous for. Dune ridges here are tall but the faces between them are long and gradual, and there are open flats separating the dune sets.
That layout matters practically. A new driver gets open ground to build confidence on — learning throttle control and how a side-by-side transfers weight before attempting anything steep. Because the field is expansive, an hour of riding doesn't repeat the same line, which is why Lahbab works well for the longer 90 and 120 minute sessions.
- Long gradual faces — easier to read and commit to
- Open flats between dune sets for skills and speed runs
- Large enough to avoid repeating terrain in a long session
- Best match: families, first-timers, 4-seater bookings
